Catherine MacGillivray was born and raised in beautiful, small town Sierra Madre, California. She is one of 4 children, with 2 brothers and an identical twin sister. With the spirit of a butterfly and the soul of a mermaid, she has always been in love with nature, has an acute attention to detail in everything she does, and has been a gifted artist since the day she was born.

Growing up an avid athlete, she played every single sport she could, including flag football! Her favorite sports are beach volleyball and soccer, but no matter how far she travels, or what adventure she’s on, she’ll always be found by the beach. It’s a place she considers home and where her best, most treasured memories have taken place.

As an artist, Catherine fine-tuned her skills after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Animation at Loyola Marymount University. There, she also began her journey as a “Cookie Entrepreneur” where she and her identical twin sister were awarded the ‘Diamond in the Rough’ scholarship their freshmen year for creating a very unique, customized, hand-decorating cookie company called ‘Two Cute Cookies.’ The next 3 years were spent being mentored in an entrepreneurship program where business skills were strengthened, networks broadened, and entrepreneurial confidence heightened.

Catherine’s skills are applicable in a variety of art forms including drawing, painting, sculpting and animating in different mediums. However, there was one ‘art form’ she hadn’t yet pursued, and that kind of art belonged in front of the camera, not behind. It was the passing of her close Grandmother a few years ago that really pushed Catherine to pursue her dream of modeling.

Simultaneously, a good friend of Catherine had told her about a particular casting call she had seen on Facebook and encouraged Catherine to apply. She was hesitant at first because she had zero experience modeling, but Catherine decided to go for it. She felt the spirit of her Grandmother pushing her. No more regrets, no more wishing, hoping or wondering. Attending that casting call changed Catherine’s life forever and began to fulfill a dream she had never thought possible.

In that first week, Catherine shot with one of the top photographers on the west coast, landed on an amazing television show and signed with a top modeling agency. The momentum was very exciting, and things took off from there! Since then, she has continued to receive consistent modeling work and is very grateful for each incredible opportunity that comes her way.
